What is Taichi Chuan

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to this new post on artetvie.blogspot.com
Today, let's define Tai Chi Chuan (sometimes you will see taichi chuan, taichichuan or taiji quan)!
Tai Chi Chuan, literally means "the supreme ultimate fist", and when just separated in two words, Taichi Chuan, you may say "taichi boxing", "boxing following the taiji principle" and even "yin-yang boxing art". So it is a martial art.
By the way, taichi is one of the most important principle and theory in the Chinese culture. It is the explanation of where we come from and what is our goal to live a beautiful and harmonious life. Also, it is the rhythm of the nature, of all the universe because taichi is the interplay of yin and yang, the two rotating, spiralling together.
Yin is the soft, calm, female, cold, earth, dark, side of the universe and yang is the strong, wild, male, warmth, sky, light side of it. Neither one side or the other should be considered as "good" or "bad" since they are al needed for the world, as we know it, to be. Without night, everything on the earth will burn and dye; without day, it will be rots and death everywhere and no life too. It is the "smart" combination of both that brings everything to existence.
So what has taichi chuan, a martial art, to do with this? Well, the movements in taichi are never too straight, never too bent, always moving from one to another without interruption, and smoothly. Allowing your body, mind and spirit to be flexible, stretched, rounded and clear, relaxed! Going in and out difficult and then loosed postures is great for the body dynamic, and health!
That's what Taichi is, and how it help you in your daily life! There is more to say on this topic but with this, you have more than a glimpse.
Take a big breath....... and relax and smile ;-)
